the tyrant of the skies

Behavior

the tetheract is highly agressive. the tetheract has some form of intelligence, using its long legs to help keep prey from harming it. the tetheract catches its prey either by swooping down from the sky or ambushing sky borne prey such as the sky wasp in the above picture, which is the preferred food item of the tetheract. a male tetheract will find a prey item and bite its neck, causing its prey to bleed out quickly and give the dying victim to a female. if the female accepts the offering, the male will mate with the female. the pair will guard the eggs, one will stay too guard the eggs if one goes out to hunt. males tend to get along with each other and even form bonds similar to humans. females tend to be aggressive to each other unless its mate has already bonded with a mating pair. young tetheracts stay in the frosted forest and prey on hivewings and cold ambushers. the young can easily fall victim to cold ambushers, tetherids, mytherids, wood-stalkers, sugar gliders, prowlers and the apex predator of the frosted swamp(spinosaurus yukina). the young can fly and are usually protected by either their parents or the oldest siblings. the older siblings are targeted by prowlers, rival tetheracts and spinosaurus. the young will also fall prey to blade wings.

Appearance

although resembling one, the tetheract is more closely related to geyserises and turtles than too archosaurs. it looks like an oversized version of the overworlds small allosaurid "vultursaurus" with larger talons, longer legs and and ribbon like membranes in its wings. the white coloration helps blend in its environment to surprise any unlucky prey items. males tend to be smaller and have 2 crests similar to witherias dilophosaurus. the females are larger with no head gear. marbled tetheracts look like the common tetheracts but have a marble like skin pattern. young tetheracts resemble blade-wings and often get confused with the 2.

Combat

the tetheract has large 8 inch talons that can pierce even the toughest prey item. compared to hytherins tetheract, the tetheract on witheria has more aerial movement and sharper talons than the one in lycheria. the tetheract also has needle like teeth used for ripping into flesh.
